Virginia Commonwealth University
Virginia Commonwealth University is a large public university located in Richmond, the capital of Virginia. Approximately 24,200 undergraduate and 7,000 graduate students currently attend VCU. The school is known for their renowned medical program as they performed the first commonwealth liver, kidney and heart transplant, and the East Coast’s first artificial heart transplant! They also have a strong men’s basketball program. The school colors are black and gold and their mascot is Rodney the Ram.
Famous "Rodney the Ram" alumni include David Baldacci - novelist, Boris Kodjoe - actor, Debbie Matenopoulos - television host (Home and Family), Stefan Lessard - musician (Dave Matthews Band), and Larry Sanders - former NBA basketball player (Cleveland Cavaliers).
