The weather has been spectacular this September in the North East! Warm weather and sun make it hard to forget those summer days. Venture into Manhattan for a day of exploring.
Breakfast on Kenmare Street at The Butcher’s Daughter is the place to relax with a coffee, juice and a number of really delicious vegetarian dishes. The outdoor tables are always full and they have a little shop next door if you want to take a juice to go.
A convenient way around the city besides your feet, the subway or bus is the Citi Bike share program. Grab a bike at one of the many Citi Bike stations.
With the nice weather lately, we walked over to Pier 25 (I know…my feet did not like me after this jaunt!) for lunch at Grand Banks. Sitting on this historic wooden schooner with a glass of rosé or beer and oysters, your mind will drift and you will feel like you are on vacation for the moment. A truly beautiful spot to enjoy the views of the Hudson River. There is even a beach volley ball court if you dare with plenty of lounge chairs to relax.
Pier 25 is part of the Hudson River Park which runs for 4 miles along Manhattan’s West Side. There is a paved bike path, a walking path and plenty of activities for all ages.
