Daniela grew up in Bucharest Romania and her favorite dessert is chocolate lava cake (for the record, that is mine too!). After living in Gran Canaria (Spain) and Tel Aviv she is now based in London. Daniela loves to travel and share her stories which hopefully encourages other people to travel and see the world. I loved her story, The Crimea You Don’t See In The News. Enjoy Daniela’s favorite sweet stops in London below.
“If I could, I would eat only ice cream, cakes, and chocolate. But my body doesn’t like this idea. I try to eat as healthy as possible and reward myself with a nice dessert from time to time. And one of the things I love about London is that there are all kinds of places to try, covering a wide range of tastes. I like to discover new places and new tastes. I’m more attracted to what seems to be different, creative, personalized.
Here is a list of my favorite places spread all around the city:
Chin Chin Labs, Camden Town
I was out with friends exploring Camden Town when we felt it was ice cream time. Chin Chin doesn’t have many choices, it’s vanilla, chocolate or caramel. They all taste incredible with a very creamy texture. And while you enjoy your treat, you can see how it’s being made, as there is no wall to the kitchen. It is a different experience as Chin Chin serves liquid nitrogen ice cream!
Dark Sugars, Shoreditch
Handmade chocolates, with so many flavors it’s hard to decide. I recommend the passion fruit ones.
Kahaila Cafe, Shoreditch
I was walking on Brick Lane, when a cute Oreo cupcake winked at me. I couldn’t resist and took it with me, no regrets. Kahaila is a charity-run cafe, with a nice and cozy atmosphere.
Tsujiri Matcha House, Soho
Tsujiri is a 155 year old Japanese traditional tea brand. The London branch opened last year, in Soho. I was looking forward to trying their O-matcha ice cream, as a different experience. And indeed the taste is a bit unexpected but refreshing and not too sweet.
Cutter & Squidge, Soho
I can not just walk by and not admire their dream cakes. They are not only beautiful but taste great as
Flavourtown Bakery, Westfield mall
If you want to taste the rainbow, you know where to go. Their main bakery is located quite far in West
London, but the good news is, they have a pretty kiosk inside the Topshop store in Westfield shopping mall in Shepherd Bush.”
Stay tuned for more sweet updates from Daniela as she heads back home to Bucharest in April!
